MHG welcomes new Sanderson fabric books in store; Byron Wools, Bruxelles Weaves and Lightweight Sheers.

Martin Hudson and Gibson introduces 3 new ranges of fabric from Sanderson just in time for the beginning of Summer.

Sanderson are renowned in interior design for their variety of wallpaper, fabric, bedlinen, tableware and paint but it is their core products of fabrics and wallpapers that impress, with silk, satin and cotton damasks, delicate embroidery and feminine florals. Their design is traditional and English inspired. What is unique about Sanderson is their design process of using the creativity of new, young designers and mixing it with classic work and historical documents.

An example of the classically British fabrics they produce is the Byron Wools collection. There are six designs which range from small checks to larger plaids, a herringbone and a new interpretation of the Sanderson classic, Squirrel and Dove. There are seven different colour palettes including Cherry, Eggshell, Mulberry, and Caramel. All are mostly wool and have an extremely soft finish so are perfect for upholstery and throws.

'Squirrel & Dove' in Eggshell

The 'Squirrel & Dove' pattern was created by the famous English architect and textile designer, Charles Voysey. It was first used by Sanderson in wallpapers in the 1890s and is currently used in printed embroideries. This version is a monochromatic interpretation which is ideal for upholstery, curtains or throws.

'Byron' in Linen/Pebble

Byron is a style of plaid known as a Madras check and provides a fresh, more contemporary and less formal look than traditional tartans. Byron has the largest check in the Byron Wools collection.

'Milton' in Mulberry/Sage

This could be called a traditional plaid design that uses the same colours in each warp and weft creating the square pattern. A stitch effect runs through the design.

Other designs in the Byron Wool collection are 'Langtry', 'Portland' and 'Tailor'.

The next collection is the Bruxelles Weaves collection. These designs are mainly large damask and floral prints and a twist on the classic stripe. The colour palette is neutral yet metallic, with silver and gold thread running through most of the fabrics. Your colour options include Denim, Silver, Bluebell, Parma, Canyon, Almond, Gold, and Ivory. These fabrics are ideal for drapes and upholstery.

Top to bottom: 'Bayeaux' in Denim, 'Bruxelles' in Canyon, 'Bruges' in Almond.

Finally we have the Lightweight Sheers. Available in a huge selection of colours, these sheers are ideal for drapes to go with your summertime theme.

These new ranges of Sanderson books are now available for viewing or lending at our showroom at 51 Sandycove Road, Sandycove, Co.Dublin. Pop in or schedule an appointment by calling us on 01 2843486.
